[Tig] Monitor Interference Issue

Have a Sony HD CRT in a suite (BVM-D32E1WU). Cannot
get a flat white. Turn the monitor a bit, of course,
it changes.
Seemingly no magnetic forces (motors, etc) anywhere
nearby... Hallways all around the suite; nothing
upstairs or down. While degaussing, images goes
relatively flat. As soon as degauss is done, goes bad.
We've all seen this.

BUT:

Check these photos (sorry, they're from my phone):

Metal "roofs" on the rooms (flashing screwed on for
aesthetics). The last photo, 1136, shows the monitor
with the sloped ceiling above.

Can these plates be collecting waves and messin'
things up below?
Thanks.

Cheers,
Steve
