[Tig] Remote Grading

I know daVinci can do remote grading utilising sending only metadata, but
I'm wondering if anyone out there can advise on using an IP link of
streaming vision to do a remote grade.
That is; a grading system at one end and a client monitor at the other.
What codec/bit rate would be deemed acceptable for HD? Is there a preferred
piece of kit already in use as I believe some facilities are already doing
this coast to coast. Naturally subtlety of tonal & hue range is what is
required rather than motion or latency issues.
