For What it's worth, I noticed the exact same artifacts as Graham on my
system which is pretty basic, but through which other transmissions via the
same route have looked fine.
Humax Freesat HD / Denon AV Reciever/Toshiba 32" LCD
All HDMI Route.

1st episode of the new Dr.Who last night. BBC normally have an excellent
standard but all I could see was quantising all over the dark shots .
horrible ! 

anyone know how it was done ?
