I had the privilege of a visit with Richard on Saturday. Although I
can't say that I am one of Richard's closest friends, I still considered
it something necessary. I have always had a high regard for him, not
only because of who he is in our industry but because I know him as one a
person I would be honored to call "Friend".

I was happy to see how far he has come in such a short time. When I
walked into his room he recognized me immediately and was very glad for
the company. We talked for quite a while about many things. Richard was
alert and active. While he isn't 100% physically, I could see that
Richard's personality is all there and striving to get out and about. He
has been working hard in physical therapy and is making significant
progress, although not enough to please himself. He has also managed to
make quite a few friends among the hospital staff.

I have to say that even though I am not the kind of person who feels at
all comfortable in hospitals, I would like to go and see Richard again
and have made plans to do so. I would encourage everyone who knows him,
to visit him.
