Hi,
Has anyone downconverted HD images from Spirit to SDTV using an external
downconverter and compared with Spirit SDTV straight output ? Just curious.
It looks like lift control in primaries is done differently in Spirit, it
works more like a "black stretch" with little to no effect on the mids,
while Ursa or DCP lift is more linear, the effect decreases smoothly along
the gamma curve. I think soft black transition is almost as important as
soft white peaking, I find the way Spirit works with the toe of the curve
to be difficult to deal with. Any comments ?
